First Parish in Lexington

First Parish joins with other congregations in Lexington this week as we lift up the issue of mental health within our churches and synagogues. Rev. Anne will be joined by members of First Parish who will share a portion of their personal journey through mental health, as we explore ways that we can support each other by lifting the veil of secrecy and learning some clear and helpful responses. Please join us at 10:30am.

This Sunday, guest pianist Sarah Hager and tenor Tim Jacoby will provide music for worship. Tim will sing Leonard Bernstein’s poignant song “Simple Song” (from Mass) and Don McLean’s sweet and lyrical song “Vincent” (Starry, Starry Night). For the centering music, Sarah will play Felix Mendelssohn’s beautiful piano pieces “Consolation, Op. 30 No. 3” and “Confidence, Op. 19 No. 4.” For the offertory she will play Barbara Smith’s gentle piano piece “Serenity.” And for the postlude, she will play Felix Mendelssohn’s joyful “Song Without Words, Op. 30. No. 1.”

There will be Sunday school classes for grades Pre-K through 8th. The nursery will be open for infants and toddlers.
