For this Sunday’s “Blessing of the Animals” service, the children’s choir will sing (and dance!) Bill Staines invigorating “A Place in the Choir,” with soloists Sarah Beuttell, Caroline and Cecilia Kvaal and David Meharry. Mark Therieaux (guitar), John Royer (electric bass) and  Regie and McKenna O’Hare Gibson (percussion) will accompany them. Youth soloist Adelle Cowen-Therieau will sing Alan Menken’s passionate “Colors of the Wind” (from Pocahontas). For the centuring music, Julia Jaffe and Elizabeth Walsh will sing Rossini’s joyful “Duetto Buffo Di Due Gatti” (Cat Duet). And the sanctuary choir will sing Jim Scott’s beautiful “Let Us Go Forth in Peace” (from Paul Winter’s Missa Gaia: A Mass for the Earth) and John Rutter’s inspirational “For the Beauty of the Earth.”
