lex-interfaith-gardenThe Lexington Interfaith Garden, located just next door to First Parish, grows organic produce during the spring, summer, and fall for Lexington’s Food Pantry. Volunteers from 12 faith communities in Lexington team together to garden two plots of land donated by First Parish and by our next-door neighbor who offers not only land but tons of instruction and pounds of patience based on her many years of gardening organically. In the first two growing seasons, we harvested nearly one ton of 35 kinds of vegetables, herbs, and flowers that we delivered fresh to the Pantry each Saturday morning.   The Social Action Committee supports the Lexington Interfaith Garden and invites you to participate in this interfaith initiative with other gardeners of different faiths. We are seeking willing hands of all sizes/ages for the actual gardening.  No experience needed!  Children, youth, and adults—all are welcome. We learn a lot.  We make new friends. We have fun.  Do join us!   For more information or a brochure, please contact Marty Kvaal or Lynne Yansen of the Social Action Committee or visit the Garden’s website.
