The Adult Programs Committee of First Parish welcomes you and invites all members and friends of the congregation to participate in our ongoing adult offerings. Below are our current programs.
You are also invited to submit proposals to the committee for programs you would like to offer and lead at the church and those you would like to see offered, but not necessarily lead. The committee reviews and schedules programs for adults and provides logistical support to implement them.
Click here to fill out an Adult Program Request Form Fall 2018 or you can request one from the office. For further information, feel free to contact a committee member: Debbie Armstrong, Dave Horton, or Ruth Rose.
The committee looks forward to hearing from you and encourages you to bring programs for adults to First Parish!

Soul Matters Groups
These small groups engage with our monthly themes, led by our Soul Matters facilitators. As a group, the monthly time together is spent in reflection and discussion to deepen understanding of our shared faith as a community, as well as to support individuals in their own spiritual paths. To join a Soul Matters Group, contact Rev. Anne Mason.
This is a drop-in group that meets on Thursdays from 4:00-5:00pm. The format includes quiet meditation for 30 minutes followed by a brief reading by a group member and time for conversation. For more information, contact the church office.
Non-Fiction Book Group
This group meets on a monthly basis, usually on Wednesday evenings, for discussions about non fiction books. Some of the books from the past year have included: The Boys in the Boat, Reclaiming Conversation, The Wright Brothers.
For more information, please contact John Oberteuffer.
Small Group Potlucks
These potlucks occur in members homes on a monthly basis. Twice a year, people are encouraged to sign up, stating their preferred day of the week and whether children will be included. Those who signup are then assigned to one of several groups of 8-10 people. The people in a group then gather for a potluck dinner in a member’s home once a month for four months. The same people remain in each group for the four months. These are a great way to connect with people others whom they may not know well. For more information, contact Linda Coyne.
Creative Callings (Fiber Arts Group)
This is a drop-in group that meets on the 2nd and 4th Thursdays every month at 2:15-3:45. Bring your knitting, quilting, crocheting or other handwork project you are working on to this time of fellowship and shared creativity. Contact Karolyn Eisenstein for more information.

The Unity Group is open to all members and friends of First Parish, and meets the second Monday of the month at 12:00 p.m. in Parker Hall. Contact the office to learn more.
