Coming of Age
We offer this program to 9th and 10th graders in alternating years as a rite of passage for youth to engage in a process to articulate the understanding of their personal beliefs. A valuable Unitarian Universalist tradition, the Coming of Age process and culminating worship service is cherished as a way to celebrate our youth’s independent minds and their growing understanding of spirituality and faith. The Coming of Age group meets approximately twice a month during the church year on Sunday evenings from 5:45-7:00, with a shared dinner with the SHYG group at 7:00 on those evenings. The Coming of Age Worship Service will be on Sunday May 7, 2016. For more information about this program, please contact our Director of Lifespan Religious Education, Lisa Maria Steinberg.
Senior High Youth Group
Senior High Youth Group (SHYG) meets on most Sunday evenings from 7:00-9:00pm under the leadership of Katie Camire, our staff Youth Coordinator. SHYG gathers for socializing, fundraising for their biannual service trip, local community service activities, and a deepening understanding of their spirituality and faith. In addition to the weekly Sunday night youth group, high schoolers are invited and encouraged to attend the weekly Sunday morning worship service and any Adult Programs that interest them.
