Sacred scripture is filled with encouragement to welcome the stranger in our midst. What light does the ancient wisdom shed upon the current anti-immigration sentiment around the world? Do we still honor the teaching “For I was a stranger and you welcomed me?” Please join Rev. Anne Mason this Sunday morning.

This Sunday, most of the music featured will be from our upcoming “Jams for Justice” concert on November 4. The choir will sing two anthems from the hit musical Les Misérables – “At the end of the Day” and the “Finale,” (including “Do you Hear the People Sing?”) with soloists Julia Jaffe, David Meharry and Elizabeth Walsh. The choir will also sing Stephen Schwartz’s uplifting “We Beseech Thee” (from Godspell) with soloist Chris Hess. Julia Jaffe will sing the yearning song “Far From the Home I Love” (from Fiddler on the Roof.) For the centering music and candle lighting, Rip Jackson will play instrumental excerpts from Les Misérables.

There will be Sunday school classes for grades Pre-K through eight. The nursery will be open for infants and toddlers.
