First Parish in Lexington

Here at First Parish we are called to Love, to Seek, and to Serve. But the tricky thing is that we have not yet discovered a unified vision of what it really means to Serve. This morning we will take time to learn the difference between what we call ‘Service” and what we call “Social Justice.”  And maybe our vision will become a bit more clear! Please join Rev. Anne this Sunday morning at 10:30am when she will have us “Looking Upstream.”

The sanctuary choir will sing Allen Koepke’s wisdom-centered “Can you Imagine?” and William Dawson’s serene arrangement of the African-American spiritual “There is a Balm,” with soloist Toni Tasker. Austin Burns will sing Jacqueline Hairston’s passionate setting of the African-American spiritual “No Ways Tired.” For the centering music and postlude, Erik Svensen will play Mozart’s spirited “Rondo for Horn in Eb Major,  K. 371” and Richard Strauss’ beautiful “Nocturne in F Major, Op. 7.”
