Sacred Poetry of the Muslim tradition:
Rumi, Hafiz, and Mohammed Iqbal

Lead by Amber Iqbal and Rev. Anne Mason
Are you looking for respite from your harried schedule? Would you like to deepen your connection to the Holy? How about building interfaith relationships over chai and poetry?
Come to First Parish once a month to explore sacred poetry of the Muslim tradition. Together with members of the Lexington Muslim community, we will use study techniques of both the western monastics and Middle Eastern scholars. We will hear the poems in their original language and in translation, then have time for quiet reflection using lectio divina, or “sacred reading,” and share with each other what we may have discovered in this time of spiritual reflection.
Thursday evenings, 7:15–8:30, at First Parish in Parish Hall
RSVP to admin@fplex.org
You do not need to attend all six sessions, but you may find that you want to!
