A Spiritual Journey

On June 21, Rev. Anne will be preaching on the spiritual journey we are on over these turbulent days. This poem by Wendell Berry suggests a way to continue to explore even while we are remaining close to home.

A Spiritual Journey
And the world cannot be discovered by a journey of miles,
no matter how long,
but only by a spiritual journey,
a journey of one inch,
very arduous and humbling and joyful,
by which we arrive at the ground at our feet,
and learn to be at home.

Music for this Sunday

This Sunday, Sarah Beuttell, Caroline Kvaal and Rosie MacClary will sing John Lennon’s iconic and hopeful “Imagine.” John Royer (mandolin and voice) and Mark Therieau (guitar and voice) will sing a bluegrass arrangement of William M. Golden’s 19th century American shape note song “To Canaan’s Land I’m on my Way.” Elizabeth Walsh will sing Rodgers and Hammerstein’s beautiful and encouraging “You’ll Never Walk Alone” (from Carousel) and Jule Styne lyrical song “Never Never Land” (from Peter Pan). For the centering music, Rip Jackson will play Johann Sebastian Bach’s ethereal “Aria” from (from The Goldberg Variations, BWV 988).
