9/25 Covenanting Sunday

Our faith is a covenantal faith. It is our promises to each other which bind us together in community. Today we will explore the power of covenant as it shows up in Unitarian Universalism - past, present and future. And together we will see how love in action might guide us here at First Parish. Rev. Anne Mason shows us "How Love Can Work" on Sunday, September 25th at 10:30 a.m.

Join us for our Living Our Values Activity Fair following Sunday Service! Held at our 3 Harrington Lot, come enjoy snacks, say hello to friends & meet representatives from our various teams and committees.

10/2 Blessing of the Animals

Join Robi Rose, Director of Religious Exploration and Rip Jackson, Director of Music, as they co-lead a Multigenerational Animal Blessing Worship Service. Religious leaders of most faith traditions and many human hearts proclaim the divinity of animals. Folks of all ages are invited to bring their well-behaved pets and plush pals to be blessed and loved as we all pause to honor our interdependence with all living beings on this beautiful planet.

10/9 Money as a Tool of Love and Restoration

As we celebrate Indigenous People’s Day, Rev. Anne will explore the work of Edgar Villanueva in his book Decolonizing Wealth. This indigenous perspective offers a refreshing new way of bringing new patterns of philanthropy to help where it is needed, to reverse the patterns from generations of colonial trauma, and to help everyone live their best lives and thrive in their cultures.

10/16 Space in the Center of Crisis

Barbara Holmes encourages us to find a spiritual center in the midst of trauma - to look deeply and take time for contemplation even as we face the crisis of our time. In this way we can, individually and collectively, replenish our courage and find new pathways through the traumas which have enveloped all of us.

10/22 & 23 Diwali

We celebrate the Festival of Lights with the Indian community of Lexington. Join us for a multigenerational experience decorating Rangoli in front of the church, a Sound Bath with guest musician Nirmal Chatrarandra, and a morning worship service celebrating the stories of Diwali. Raj Heda and Mona Roy join Rev. Anne to offer prayers and teachings of the human quest for light in the darkness. All are welcome!

10/3. Becoming Part of the Beauty

In our annual All Soul’s service, we mourn the loss of beloved members of our community, our family, and our world. Bring a photo or memory of someone you would like to honor. Be comforted by music and gentle words as we share our losses and help each other to find the beauty of transformation. Following worship we will hold our annual Memorial Garden service to honor all those whose names are inscribed in the bricks of our beautiful and sacred garden.
