In his poem from “The Book of Hours,”  Rilke says:  If we surrendered to earth’s intelligence we could rise up rooted, like trees. But instead, he says,  we tangle ourselves up in knots of our own making. Come and explore a pathway back to the gravitation of the earth, so that we can, with Rilke, find our way “toward the heart of the world.”
