First Parish in Lexington

All are welcome as we gather together for the start of another church year together. In celebration of a First Parish tradition, please bring water from your summer travels, whether from across the country or your own back yard, for the Ingathering ceremony.

In celebration of a new First Parish tradition, please bring your swim suits and towels to slide into the new church year on a water slide after worship!

The Sanctuary Choir will resume singing for First Parish’s worship services. We welcome them back! For the introit, they will sing Karen Marrroli’s deeply-moving “Rivers of Living Water,” with Erik Svensen on horn and Meg Newhouse on flute. The choir will also sing Dan Forrest’s lyrical “God of the Deep.” Soprano soloist Elizabeth Walsh will sing Moses Hogan’s powerful arrangement of the African-American spiritual “Deep River.” Greg Howlett’s Jazz piano arrangement of “Shall We Gather by the River” and Bach’s joyful “Allegro” (from  Concerto in F Major “L’Estro Armonico” for organ) will be played during the centering music and postlude.
