First Parish in Lexington

Our world is filled with beauty.  And it is filled with sorrow and joy, happiness and injustice.  This Sunday morning we will explore the beauty that is within, around and among us, as Rev. Anne asks “What does it mean to be a people of beauty?”

The sanctuary choir will sing William Walker’s early American shape-note version of “Amazing Grace” (“New Britain”) with soloists Allison Flanagan, Elisabeth Jas, Toni Tasker and Elizabeth Walsh and Joan Szymko’s energetic and inspiring “It Takes a Village” with soloist Austin Burns and percussionists Adrian and Pieter Svenson. Soloists Austin Burns, Andrew Donovan, Rip Jackson and David Meharry will sing the meditative medieval Gregorian chant “Sicut Cervus” (from Liber Usualis). For the centering music, Rip Jackson will play Robert Schumann gentle piano piece “Traumerei” (from Scenes from Childhood, Op. 15). He will also play Johann Pachelbel’s energetic organ work “Toccata in C Major” for the postlude.

There will be Sunday school classes for Pre-K throught Eighth Grade. The nursery will be open for infants and toddlers.
