Was Jesus a Marxist?

Today Rev. Anne will preach the Auction Sermon purchased at last year’s auction. She was asked to explore the teachings of Jesus on altruism. Did he really mean that if someone asks for our coat, we should give our shirt as well? And where does theology bump up against evolutionary psychology? All this, just in time for this year’s auction…

Enjoy the Sermon

This Sunday guest singers will sing music from the Broadway stage during worship. Natalie Brierre will sing the deeply heart-felt “Nobody Seems to Care” from Rip Jackson’s original musical The Beatitudes: A Journey of Compassion, Justice and Love Triumphant. She will be joined by Mattie Sowards in singing Claude-Michel Schönberg’s passionate “I Still Believe” (from Miss Saigon). Taylor Ampatiellos and Jamie Willis will sing Stephen Schwartz’s lyrical “On the WIllows” (from Godspell). And Rip Jackson will play Claude Debussy’s beautiful piano piece “Claire de Lune” (from Suite Bergamasque).
