watch Every Spring the Social Action Ministry coordinates an all church intergenerational Day of Service.  For the past five years around 100 youth and adults have participated. SAM has arranged with local organizations and charities for First Parish folk to provide services at the site of these organizations. People also gather at First Parish to contribute to an organization. The day begins with a breakfast and then volunteers scatter throughout Lexington and neighboring communities. All return to the church at the end of their projects and reflect on what has been accomplished and what each one has learned. Some of the organizations we have worked with on the Day of Service include the Lexington Food Pantry, the Lexington Interfaith GardenWATCH, Communities Without Borders, Veterans Homeless Shelter and the Lincoln Food Project.
